My name is Smári Slater and Edda Hestar is the name of the company I run with my wife Mandy.

Here at Bentleigh Farm, near Salisbury in Wiltshire I train, sell and breed Icelandic horses.

Our aim is to produce good Icelandic horses that are a pleasure to own and ride, with clean clear gaits, soft mouths and excellent characters.

I rode and showed in hand my home-bred stallion Drópi Frá Salisbury (by Stefnir frá Sandhólaferju out of Lyfting frá Eyvindarmúla) in the Breeding Competition whilst Mandy competed Ýma frá Bakkakoti (by Orion frá Litla-Bergi out of Skessa frá Bakkakoti) in the Sports Classes.

If you are thinking of buying an Icelandic horse, would like a holiday riding Icelandic horses (or just a day trip out), or if you have one and feel some training might be in order, please feel free to contact us.

The best time to catch us is in the evening, however you can call any time and leave a message if we are not in - we are currently in the midst of relocating from Wiltshire to near Carmarthen so please bear with us!
